Van Jensen was born and raised in the farm country of Western Nebraska where he wrote and drew stories as soon as he could hold a pencil. He became a newspaper crime reporter, then a magazine editor, an author of comic books and graphic novels, and finally a novelist and screenwriter.

Jensen’s debut novel, GODFALL, became the subject of a Hollywood bidding war and earned numerous accolades and awards. It is now becoming a trilogy. As a screenwriter, Jensen has sold projects to several studios and has written for film and TV.

He has written some of the world’s biggest characters, including Godzilla, James Bond, The Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. He also has co-created several acclaimed and award-winning original graphic novels.

Jensen is known for creating fiction that combines mind-bending genre concepts with deeply emotional, character-centered stories that have earned praise from fans and critics alike. His work can be thrilling, hilarious or terrifying, but it is always heartfelt. A complete bibliography can be found here.

More recently, Jensen has worked as a writer and director in film. His debut short film, Pisser, played at film festivals around the country and received accolades. Since then, he has filmed several short films and music videos, as well as creating video projects for corporate clients. Some of his film work is available here.
